Roman Catholic Church Hopes to Stop Climate Change?
Until we saw this recently released video, we were not aware of the commitment of the Roman Catholic Church to stopping climate change. It seems especially timely to post here because of the climate change conference now underway in Durban, South Africa.
The delegates meeting there under the auspices of the UN want to stop it, apparently (climate change). We are less optimistic, to be sure. Climate change, it seems to us, has been around for billions of years. Stopping it in a decade may be more than even the UN can handle.
The Roman Catholic Church seems to believe that it can be stopped as well, or at least ameliorated. This is a stance in keeping with other globalist aspects of the Church that we have noticed in the past few years. We do know by now, for instance, that the Church (or parts of it) is partial to the whole idea of global governance, and that the Pope himself called for a form of it back in July 2009. You can see our article here: Pope Calls for Global Governance.
But we weren't aware of the interest the Church has in fighting climate change until we saw this video, below. It comes from an organization called Trócaire.org, which is "the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland." Trócaire seems to do a lot of good work fighting poverty, and its fighting stance extends to climate change as well. (Climate "chaos" they call it). Here's what the intro to the YouTube video says:
As Ireland's Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan prepared to travel to Durban in South Africa for the UN conference on Climate Change, Stop Climate Chaos wanted to send him off knowing climate change matters to people. Here's how they did it ...
The video explanation adds that, "The Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan has caused confusion and uncertainty with his remarks surrounding whether or not the climate change bill is a priority for him. We need him to commit to publishing a climate bill and sending it to the Environment committee early next year."
We visited their site as well: "Trócaire is an organization "working in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Overseas we deliver our support through local partner organisations, helping communities and families to free themselves from the oppression of poverty. In Ireland we raise awareness about the causes of global poverty and encourage people to campaign for global change as a matter of justice."
The website adds that "Trócaire is the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland." Also we learned that Trócaire works with an organization called Caritas Internationalis. This organization, too, seems affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. Here's something from the Caritas site:
President Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga and Caritas South Africa will be leading a delegation of representatives from the Caritas members to UN climate talks in Durban, South Africa. [Read press release from 24 November 2011]
The 20-strong Caritas delegation will be taking part in several events in Durban in focusing on the impact of climate change in Africa. [Read Caritas Internationalis statement to the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)]
Cardinal Rodriguez said, "Urgent action is necessary. Climate negotiators in Durban must not further delay agreeing to international legislation to curb the threat of climate change and set the world on a path to a more just and sustainable future."
We're not so sure about climate change, or even global warming, as the Catholic Church (or some of its organizations) seems to be. We think, in fact, it's a kind of Trojan horse designed to create a phony problem in order to suggest an even phonier solution – global governance.
That is, perhaps, how the REAL power elite works, the one that seems to want to create a new world order using these faux, fear-based dominant social themes. Obviously, the elites have supporters within the Catholic Church (or parts of it) that intend to promote this paradigm. We disagree entirely:

I hate to post this. The encyclical is reinforced by an October 24th report by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace entitled: Towards Reforming the International Monetary and Financial Systems in the Context of Global Public Authority.
Neither the Council nor the Pope seem to understand quite what they are saying. Tom Woods wrote about it, as did Jeffery Tucker. Without saying so it basically calls for socialist world government.

Global warming is a globalist fraud just like the Catholic "church" which was a fraud from it's inception in the early centuries after Jesus Christs' death... they have tortured and killed more Bible believing Christians than any other group (even the Jews!) they continue this plan via ethnic cleansing in secular Mideast countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, the Sudan and soon to come, Syria...
It's no wonder they push this wealth redistribution plan... .just look at the former Nazi Pope Ratso's call for wealth redistribution in his recently issued encyclical" CARITAS IN VERITATE

A little historical note from the Windmillers in Europe during the 1400's. The Church declared the wind divine and taxes and licenses had to be paid by the Windmillers to the Church. They all agreed and told the Church; We will pay your taxes and more gladly, but we need more wind. This is the territory of the State not the Church. Keep out of my business and I will keep out of yours. Amen.

"Obviously, the elites have supporters within the Catholic Church (or parts of it) that intend to promote this paradigm.":
Exactly. The Church has been subverted by 'NGO's' and 'philanthropists' for 2000 years, even at the top levels.
This is nothing new. As a german ultramontane, who's still figuring out for months what the DB means by the term 'reformation', I think it surely has to be that way in one way or another and that it will sustain until the end of times.
Since the church isn't monolithic and ,in fact, never has been.
For those who think the body of the church is like a pyramide:
The UN only got a foot in the catholic church shortly before the second vatican council, which destroyed its hierarchical structures almost completely.
Environmentalism as a dominant social theme came with Pierre Teilhard de Chardin/ Julian Huxley in the swinging 60's.
But what about enforced population control/eugenics/role of the family ? Seems the church is still pretty firm on this issues ? Is the UN amused ?
Pope Benedikt didn't even sign the last document about a central world bank, written by progressive UN-jesuits. (Or wasn't 'allowed' to ?)
Sadly, he hasn't got a simple clue about free market economy. Look at the bavarian CS(!)U-party. Not different. That's where he's coming from.
Some traditional catholics do: Jörg Guido Hülsmann and Tom Woods from the mises institute, Andrew Napolitano etc...
